A health care provider in North-West England seeks a Breast Oncoplastic Fellow for a unique opportunity at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. This 12-month fixed-term position involves consultant clinic work, patient management, and teaching medical students. The candidate will rotate among four consultants and will have no on-call responsibilities. An exciting opportunity has become available within the Surgery and Critical Care Group for a Breast Oncoplastic Fellow. This post will be a 12/12 fixed term contract and will be based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. Clinical sessions within the job plan will be on all three sites so travel time will be built within the job plan.
There is no on-call commitment but the postholder may be approached for advice on emergency patients and should support the General Surgeons with the management of these. Post-operatively the post holder should be available for contact by the ward in case of complications and should liaise with the General Surgery on-call team when necessary to facilitate patient care.
The post holder will be supported by the Breast Clinical Team which includes 4 Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeons, 3 Middle Grade Doctors, including deanery trainees with ward support from FY doctors and nurse practitioners. UHMBT has strong ties with Lancaster University and offer great opportunities to get involved with teaching medical students and with research. We are therefore delighted to offer this great opportunity for an Oncoplastic Fellow to take up this post working in a highly successful, modern department delivering outstanding results in a breathtakingly beautiful part of England. Arrangements for a visit to the Breast Department can be arranged on request. The post holder will rotate between 4 consultants spending allocated time with each team but flexibility will be allowed to maximise training opportunities.
