Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking a Senior Staff Nurse (Band 6) for Horder Ward. The post leads a small team on an oncology ward delivering care around surgery, systemic therapy, radiotherapy and symptom management.

The role requires strong leadership, teaching capability and motivation to develop a team of nurses with support from the Trust's learning and development team. On-site study opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• NMC Registration and ongoing professional development are required.
• RMH Certificate in Intravenous Drug Administration (or to be obtained within 3 months).
• Recognition of oncology or specialty qualification is essential.
• Diploma or degree level study (or equivalent) is expected.
• Recognised teaching qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise junior and unqualified staff to ensure safe patient care.
• Develop teaching and assess skills within the clinical setting.
• Lead and manage a team of nurses, planning duties and rostering.
• Assist in ward staffing planning and liaison with temporary staffing.
• Provide clinical governance and manage risks in the ward.
