Job summary
SLR Consulting in Manchester invites applications for an Apprentice Transportation Engineer to join our growing Transport Engineering team. This full‑time, on‑site role offers training through a Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Salford and exposure to Section 278/38 processes, budgeting, bills of quantities and costings.
You will learn to ensure designs meet specifications, health and safety regulations and environmental considerations while collaborating with clients
Qualifications
- Apprentice programme in Civil Engineering with University of Salford enrollment.
- Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
- Ability to engage with colleagues and negotiate with clients and stakeholders.
- Understanding Health & Safety legislation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of detailed design, feasibility studies and scheme reports.
- Support project management, budgeting, and cost estimations (Bills of Quantities).
- Ensure designs comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements.
- Assess environmental impacts of schemes.
