Job summary

Halifax-based Sodexo is hiring a Security Officer to protect staff, visitors and contractors on site. The role requires vigilance, strong communication, and the ability to respond calmly to emergencies. On-site duties include managing access, patrolling, CCTV monitoring, and completing registrations and handovers.

Applicants should hold a valid SIA Security Guarding licence and/or CCTV licence, with prior security experience preferred. A full UK driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA Security Guarding licence – essential.
• Experience in a security role or similar environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of security procedures and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Act as key point of contact for security on site and maintain a safe environment for staff, visitors and contractors.
• Control and monitor access and egress of people and vehicles in line with procedures.
• Monitor premises with CCTV and other security systems and respond to concerns or incidents.
• Carry out regular security patrols and checks across the site.
• Respond promptly to fire alarms, emergencies and security incidents following procedures.
• Support fire control systems and conduct scheduled fire alarm testing.
• Welcome visitors and contractors with checks, registrations and inductions.
• Maintain records for keys, access cards and security-controlled items.
