Job summary

DS Smith Belper is seeking a proactive Quality Assurance Technician to safeguard product safety and quality across our manufacturing operations. You will work with production teams to ensure customer expectations are met, support site quality systems, and drive a right-first-time culture.

You will lead with health and safety, assist with audits, calibrate testing equipment, and support new product introductions and customer trials. This role is on-site, Monday to Friday, in Belper.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production, or quality environments.
• Strong health and safety commitment; lead by example.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of quality standards, auditing and regulatory requirements.
• Proactive, flexible and eager to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety compliance across site.
• Manage and process customer complaints per quality procedures.
• Conduct PACE performance and paper sampling, testing, reporting.
• Participate in weekly PACE review meetings and identify trends.
• Provide technical, hygiene, and quality support site-wide.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
• Support audits and corrective/preventive actions.
• Deputise for QA Manager when required.
• Champion product safety and right-first-time culture.
• Represent DS Smith during customer site visits.
