Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland is seeking a technician to maintain mobile plant equipment across customer sites, focusing on planned servicing and preventative maintenance rather than repairs. You will ensure machines are compliant, safe, and operating efficiently through scheduled tasks.

This role requires independence in a mobile environment, a strong mechanical understanding of diesel engines and hydraulics, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience with mobile or heavy plant machinery in a servicing or maintenance capacity.
• Good mechanical understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to follow service schedules, checklists and maintenance procedures.
• Comfortable working independently in a mobile role.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on mobile plant machinery.
• Complete routine inspections, checks, and fluid changes.
• Identify and report potential issues or wear for further action.
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Provide a professional and customer‑focused on-site presence.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained to high standards of cleanliness, functionality and compliance.
