TITLE: Mandarin Speaking On‑Site Maintenance Technician
Location: Erith
Job Type: Permanent, full‑time
Salary: up to 42,000

Key Responsibilities
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on equipment such as dumpling machines, mixers, grinders, refrigeration units, boilers, and packaging lines; identify potential issues early to prevent unplanned breakdowns.
- Emergency Breakdown Support: Respond swiftly to machinery failures to minimize production disruption; diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Technical Troubleshooting & Optimization: Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions; calibrate equipment and support the installation of new machinery.
- Maintenance Documentation: Maintain accurate records via CMMS, including spare parts usage and repair histories; assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for engineering standards.
- Food Safety, Hygiene & Compliance: Adhere to BRCGS, HACCP, COSHH, and Health & Safety guidelines; ensure all maintenance activities meet strict food hygiene standards.
- Contractor Coordination: Liaise with external specialists (e.g., boiler and refrigeration contractors) and oversee their work on site.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Skills (Required in at least one area) – Mechanical maintenance (bearings, shafts, gearboxes); electrical fault finding (control panels, sensors, wiring); refrigeration systems (experience with R404A/R448A is a plus); boiler and compressed air systems; basic PLC knowledge (Siemens/Mitsubishi preferred).
- Core Competencies – Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure; excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety; effective communication and teamwork; proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience & Certifications – Background in food manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial maintenance; relevant engineering qualifications: Level 2/3 Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Installation (18th Edition preferred), F‑Gas Certification (advantageous), FLT Licence (beneficial); willingness to work shifts, weekends, and participate in an on‑call rota.
