Job summary

EPC in Cwmfelinfach, Ynysddu, Newport is hiring a Shift Engineer to maintain and repair plant, machinery, and site infrastructure. You will support production by resolving breakdowns and implementing planned maintenance, driving improvements in efficiency, hygiene, quality and profitability.

The role demands hands-on maintenance across GMP environments with a focus on safety, reliability and active collaboration with production and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all plant, machinery and equipment to meet production demands at all times.
• Run daily maintenance and attend breakdowns; keep accurate logs and records.
• Ensure work is clean and orderly across the entire site.
• Respond rapidly to breakdowns on site to minimise downtime.
• Perform maintenance in Low Risk, High Care and High Risk environments per GMP.
• Ensure machinery complies with Health and Safety regulations; use Safe Systems of Work.
• Maintain a spare parts inventory on site within budget.
• Liaise with external maintenance contractors and ensure EPC standards are followed.
• Evaluate new machinery with Engineering Manager for suitability and cost.
• Assess changes to plant with development teams to improve quality and profitability.
• Carry out regular site checks of plant rooms, structures, car parks and landscapes.
• Audit health and safety compliance and attend H&S meetings.
• Oversee plants and service utilities; liaise with suppliers for repairs and maintenance.
• Support adherence to H&S policy and drive safety standards.
• Provide reporting between Production, Engineering and management.
• Perform other duties as needed to meet business needs.
