Job summary

A leading technology services provider in Oxford is seeking an On-Site IT Support Engineer with NPPV & SC Clearance to provide 1st and 2nd line technical support. The ideal candidate has proven experience in Microsoft technologies and will manage multiple tickets using an Ivanti system in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong customer service skills and ability to work independently during 8-hour shifts on-site, 5 days a week.

Qualifications

  • Possess active UK NPPV & SC Clearance.

Pay Rate: £250 - £300 per day

CPS Group UK are delighted to be working with a leading organisation to appoint an NPPV & SC Cleared On‑Site IT Support Engineer to provide robust on‑site technical support to employees. The On‑Site IT Support Engineer should possess both excellent technical support and interpersonal skills and be highly proficient in Microsoft‑centric IT support.

The NPPV & SC Cleared On‑Site IT Support Engineer will perform 1st & 2nd Line break‑fix, deployment and support services in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple tickets simultaneously (using Ivanti) through to completion.

The role is based on‑site 5 days per week, working 8 hour shifts between the core business hours of 9am - 5pm, sometimes starting earlier if required.

This role requires ACTIVE UK NPPV & SC Clearance – candidates who do not possess this cannot be considered.

Role Requirements
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line onsite and remote technical support for users, covering desktop, laptop, mobile, and application issues.
  • Support and resolve technical queries, incidents, and service requests using Ivanti ticketing system.
  • Complete device builds, deployments, and troubleshooting for Windows devices and Microsoft technologies.
  • Offer walk‑up support and floor‑walking services.
  • Manage asset inventory, device repairs, replacements, and proactive onsite IT health checks.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation and user‑support materials.
  • Ensure compliance with cyber security policies and practices.
  • Escalate issues to third parties or vendors as needed.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide user training as requested.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in Microsoft application and device support for Windows estates.
  • Possess active UK NPPV & SC Clearance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies (e.g. M365, Active Directory, Intune, JAMF, Autopilot).
  • Experience with Ivanti (or similar) ticketing systems, including queue management.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve common user queries and technical issues.
  • Exemplary customer service and communication skills.
  • Takes a proactive and professional approach.
  • Experience supporting deployments, builds, floor‑walking, and VIP users.
  • Asset management and device build/deployment experience.
  • Knowledge of cyber security best practice.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work independently and prioritise tasks.
