Job summary

EASBY FLOORING LIMITED is seeking a skilled Floorlayer in Darlington for full-time, on-site work. You will prepare subfloors, measure, cut, and install a range of floor coverings, and ensure high-quality finishes with neat edges and joins.

You will use hand and power tools safely, interact with customers on-site, and collaborate with colleagues to complete projects on schedule. A valid UK driving licence is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in floorlaying from preparation to finishing.
• Safely use hand and power tools with strong attention to detail.
• Basic numeracy and measurement skills for material calculations.
• Good physical fitness for long periods on feet and lifting.
• Effective communication and professional customer service for homes/businesses.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
• Experience in flooring/construction or related trade preferred; apprenticeship advantageous.
• Valid UK driving licence and transport to reach Darlington sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare subfloors, ensure surfaces are level and clean.
• Measure, cut, and install carpets, vinyl, laminate or other coverings.
• Remove existing flooring and finish edges and joins neatly.
• Use hand and power tools safely, maintain a tidy work area.
• Interact with customers on-site and provide care guidance.
