Job summary

The Best Connection Group Limited at Gatwick Airport is recruiting Class 2/CAT C drivers for on-site waste and recycling duties. You will operate a waste-collection vehicle around terminals, loading and unloading containers while adhering to security and driving regulations.

Roles include day or night shifts (06:00-18:00 or 18:00-06:00), 4 on 4 off, with a pay rate of £17.82 per hour. A full UK driving licence, CPC, and Tachograph card are required, along with a committed, physically capable

Qualifications

Must have Full UK driving licence, Category C (Class 2).
Minimum 12 months' recent experience driving HGV Class 2.
Current CPC certification and a Digital Tachograph Card.
Solid spoken and written English skills.
Physically active and dependable worker.
Able to supply a full, verifiable 5-year work and/or education history (airside clearance).
Willing to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

Operate a Class 2 vehicle safely across the airport grounds.
Pick up waste and recycling materials from various terminals and work areas.
Deliver collected materials to the airport's recycling facility.
Load/unload waste bins and containers.
Perform routine pre-shift vehicle checks and keep documentation up to date.
Flag any vehicle issues, damage or faults without delay.
Stay in regular contact with the wider operations team.
Comply with Drivers' Hours rules, Working Time Directive requirements and Tachograph law.
Adhere to airport-specific security protocols and site safety standards.
Take on other duties as reasonably required by the operation.
