Children's Home Registered Manager (EBD)

Location: Milton Keynes or North East England (Consett, Durham, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and surrounding areas)

Salary: £55,000-£65,000 (DOE) + Performance Bonuses

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a new Children's Residential Home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

You will be responsible for achieving the highest standards of care, compliance and leadership within the home, ensuring it operates in accordance with Ofsted regulations and provides a therapeutic, nurturing, safe environment for children and young people.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a new home with full backing from an established operational team, giving you a significant head start in staffing, compliance and setup.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop the residential home to achieve Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
  • Ensure high-quality, child-focused care that meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strong, inspirational leadership to the care team, including supervision, development, and performance management.
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, therapeutic environment tailored to the needs of EBD young people.
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, safeguarding, and behaviour management strategies.
  • Ensure the home meets all financial, operational, and compliance objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider operational support team (finance, compliance, recruitment, HR, etc.).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and external stakeholders.
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes for children.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children's residential setting.
  • Strong track record working within EBD provisions.
  • Relevant Level 5 qualification (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children's Residential Services) or equivalent.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and safeguarding practices.
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing and motivating care teams.
  • Strong communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
  • Passion for improving the lives and outcomes of vulnerable children.
