Job summary

Ashwa? Ashtead Technology, Inc. is seeking a Magnetic Rope Testing Inspector to join our offshore inspection team in the UK.

You will perform MRT inspections on wire ropes, generate accurate offshore reports, and ensure all equipment is set up, installed, and commissioned on site from day one, while maintaining safety and regulatory standards. Qualifications

• Experience in Magnetic Rope Testing is essential.
• Knowledge of wire rope applications.
• Hold a Wire Rope Inspection Certification.
• Apprenticeship or qualification in Hydraulic, Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
• Offshore Survival and Medical Certification.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure individually or in a team.
• Additional certifications such as GWO Training, Rigger Stage 1, Working at Height, and Seamans Card are advantageous.
• Supervisory experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform Magnetic Rope Testing (MRT) inspections on wire ropes.
• Prepare and complete inspection reports offshore, ensuring documentation is accurate and timely.
• Set up, install, and commission equipment on site and ensure readiness from day one.
• Operate and maintain a range of LPD, Cutting and Pump equipment and winch systems safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hydraulic and electrical equipment from fault finding to rebuild and reporting.
• Interpret technical manuals and schematics to support operation, maintenance, and modifications.
• Maintain high safety and compliance standards including PPE, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
• Work closely with clients on site, representing the business professionally and building relations.
• Identify equipment issues and support continuous improvement with detailed reporting.
