The Offshore Safety coach will support all levels of the offshore team (work party through to OIM level) with a focus on work site visits and assisting improvement in permit compliance and dynamic risk assessment at site. The coach will observe work processes to identify and encourage use of best practices to minimize risks and enhance safety performance. The coach will have a high level of engagement with all relevant stakeholders to deliver a step change in results in control of work and procedure compliance, delivered through education, procedure improvement, and coaching.
Candidates must have a robust and proven track record as an Offshore Safety Coach in the UKCS.
Demonstrable operational experience on offshore assets.
Previous experience of working on an FPSO would be highly advantageous.
- Responsible to the Asset Manager
- Provide coaching on risk assessment and permit to work systems, including coaching on hazard identification, dynamic risk assessment and procedural compliance.
- Attend work site visits with work party and toolbox talks; providing coaching where required.
- Perform work site visits and permit audits.
- Mentor leaders and crew on best practices for safe operations and compliance with company and industry procedures
- Coach and motivate leaders and crew to check and follow Company procedures.
- Development and delivery of a coaching plan.
- Provide guidance and support to personnel on the control of work processes.
- Facilitate coaching on procedures, risk assessment, and permit-to-work systems.
- Facilitate improvements and usability of existing procedures.
- Facilitate coaching to improve knowledge of CMS and Maridian so procedures become easy to find.
- Facilitate coaching to improve knowledge of RABA/CMS Works.
- Develop and establish a practical after-action review (AAR) format as standard practice at Company - capture lessons with actions.
- Take ownership to coach and mentor leaders and crew to develop the onboard culture in line with Company values.
- Lead by example to develop and strengthen management and supervision relating to control of work and procedural compliance.
- Build positive relationships with leaders, influencers, and other relevant personnel.
- Set regular coaching sessions with leaders to enhance skills and to set standards and expectations.
- Guide and mentor leaders to demonstrate consistency in the use of Company control of work and procedures.
- Task leaders to develop and deliver a structured transition to work process (Pre-work planning meetings, procedure reviews, procedure awareness, toolbox talks, etc.)

Education & Experience
- Combined Offshore Survival, Fire Fighting and HUET Certificate
- MIST/IMIST
- Oil & Gas UK Offshore Medical Certificate
- NEBOSH Technical Certificate or experience Behavioural Safety Training and/or experience
