Job summary

Serco Group Plc is seeking a highly capable Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) for offshore operations in the United Kingdom. The role covers maintenance, repair, and operation of all electrical and electronic equipment, including DP systems, navigation, and communications across the vessel.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will ensure safe operation and ongoing reliability, coordinate with shoreside support, and maintain audit-ready records while working closely with deck officers and

Qualifications

• Valid STCW Electro-Technical Officer certificate (III/6).
• Recognised seagoing ETO experience.
• Strong knowledge of marine electrical, electronic, and automation systems.
• Experience with fault diagnosis and system recovery under operational conditions.
• Familiarity with PMS systems and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, test, and support shipboard electrical and electronic systems.
• Provide electrical and technical support for navigation, communication and DP systems.
• Support propulsion, vessel manoeuvring, and power generation/distribution systems.
• Execute planned maintenance per PMS and ensure timely documentation.
• Coordinate with shoreside support and service engineers for audits and upgrades.
• Guide engineering staff and deck officers to ensure safe, efficient vessel operations.
