Job summary

A community arts organization in West Alvington is looking for an experienced Office Manager to oversee operations and support the Director/CEO. You will manage office administration, HR processes, and be the main point of contact for enquiries and bookings. Strong experience in office management, HR, and communication skills are essential.   • Supervise key service providers.
  • Provide administrative support for HR management.
  • Coordinate communications, space bookings, and team meetings.
  • Line manage the Administrator and oversee volunteer coordination.
  • Provide PA support for the Director/CEO.

Join Our Team: Office Manager at Harbour House, Kingsbridge

Harbour House is seeking a highly organised and motivated Office Manager to oversee the operational running of Harbour House and Harbour House Trust. This pivotal role ensures the smooth day-to-day management of our estate, offices, and administrative systems, supporting the work of our Director/CEO and contributing to the continued success of our organisation.

As Office Manager, you will be the main point of contact for general enquiries and commercial bookings for our hireable spaces, ensuring that all visitors and partners receive a professional and welcoming experience. You will manage office administration, HR processes, and support the Director/CEO with diary and travel management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the management of the Harbour House estate, including four residential flats in Kingsbridge
  • Develop and maintain a planned schedule of maintenance and safety checks across all sites
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and fire safety requirements
  • Manage repairs, facilities budgets, contractors, and suppliers
  • Supervise the relationship with our café, cleaning company, and other key service providers
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for Harbour House Trust, including HR management policy development
  • Coordinate communications, space bookings, and team meetings
  • Line manage the Administrator and oversee volunteer coordination
  • Provide PA support for the Director/CEO
About You

You will be an experienced Office Manager or equivalent, with strong administrative, organisational, and people management skills. You will be confident managing multiple priorities, budgets, and systems, and bring a professional, detail-oriented approach to your work.

Essential criteria include:

  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Strong IT literacy, particularly in Google Workspace
