Job description
Role Purpose

To support the smooth running of the customer service function within a label manufacturing business that supplies labels to the construction industry. The apprentice will learn how to manage customer enquiries, process orders, and provide professional and timely responses while developing an understanding of label products, health & safety requirements, and supply chain processes specific to the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries (phone, email, and in person).
  • Support the processing of orders for construction labelling products, quotations, and delivery documentation.
  • Assist in resolving customer queries regarding product suitability, durability, compliance requirements, availability, and lead times.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of label products, printing specifications, and their applications in construction (e.g., safety signage, equipment labels, hazard warnings).
  • Maintain accurate records in company systems (CRM/ERP).
  • Liaise with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Support the preparation of customer reports and updates.
  • Handle complaints professionally and elevate when necessary.
  • Promote a positive company image by providing excellent service and adhering to company values.

Training & Development
  • Completion of Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard.
  • On‑the‑job training in customer service systems, processes, and product knowledge.
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths (if not already achieved).
  • Mentoring and support from experienced colleagues.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, potential progression routes include:

Working Conditions
  • Full‑time apprenticeship (minimum 37 hours per week).
  • Office‑based with occasional visits to production and warehouse areas.
  • Standard working hours Mon–Thurs, 9am–5pm – Friday 9pm -4.30pm
