• Proven experience in import freight forwarding for a UK based forwarder, experience in LCL operations.
• Strong understanding of international shipping documentation and procedures.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Confident using freight management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage import shipments across sea, air, and road freight.
• Liaise effectively with overseas offices, agents, and partners to ensure smooth shipment handling.
• Manage end-to-end shipment files, maintaining accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
• Raise sales and purchase invoices and maintain records.
• Update and manage client bookings and shipment details within shared systems.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Resolve queries and complaints promptly and professionally.

Our client, a well‑established and expanding freight forwarder, is seeking an experienced Import Freight Operator to join their growing team in Witham. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a solid background in freight forwarding to become part of a busy and supportive Import LCL department.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm (08:00am - 05:00pm also an option)
Holidays: 20 days annual leave + bank holidays
