Ocean Export Coordinator – Birmingham Airport – Up to £35,000

Our client are seeking an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator to manage the end-to-end process of ocean export shipments. The successful candidate will have solid experience in ocean freight forwarding, familiarity with carrier platforms, and the ability to handle export documentation accurately and efficiently.

Job type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle of ocean export shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Communicate with carriers to secure bookings, track sailings, and resolve scheduling issues.
• Prepare, verify, and issue all export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading).
• Ensure compliance with export regulations, Incoterms, and internal company policies.
• Coordinate with custom brokers, warehouses, and trucking companies to ensure timely dispatch.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal systems.
• Provide excellent customer service by keeping clients informed and resolving any shipment-related queries promptly.

Skills required

• 2-4 years of proven experience in ocean export operations or freight forwarding with a UK based freight forwarder.
• Understand and experienced in handling customs documentation as well as dealing with entries.
• Right to work in the UK (No sponsorship on offer).
• Hands-on experience using shipping line platforms.
• Strong understanding of international trade documentation and Incoterms.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and freight management systems.
