Export Clerk

Rainham, East London | Hybrid | £29,000 - £38,000 DOE

Hybrid working is available - 3 days from home, 2 days in the office (subject to business needs).

Our client, a leading logistics and supply chain solutions provider, is currently seeking an experienced Ocean Export Clerk with a background in ocean freight forwarding to join their team based in Rainham, East London.

About the Role

Ocean Export Clerk Key Responsibilities include:

Operational:

• Manage export container movements and coordinate shipments efficiently.
• Liaise with international offices to ensure timely and accurate movement of consignments.
• Oversee Customs clearance and arrange haulage as required.
• Act as the first point of contact for clients, maintaining excellent service standards.
• Accurately manage all shipment documentation and meet strict deadlines.

Administrative:

• Maintain and update control sheets for full visibility and auditing.
• Ensure all systems hold accurate, real-time information.

Commercial:

• Provide competitive freight quotations and promote additional services.
• Monitor job-file profitability and manage cost/revenue alignment.
• Process and confirm invoicing on all relevant shipments.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding or Logistics.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Flexible, proactive approach with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Competency in Microsoft Office and logistics systems.
