This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive multidisciplinary team and work alongside the team Occupational Therapist to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. You will support service users, primarily through individual work, to identify and pursue meaningful community activities, strengthen social connections and promote independence and inclusion.
Working under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist, you will deliver practical, recovery-focused support and contribute to both core interventions and the wider occupational therapy group programme. This may include psychoeducation, safety planning, problem-solving, supported self-management and employment-focused support.
You will be based within the Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorder and Trauma (ADAPT) service—a dynamic, fast-paced team focused on delivering effective brief interventions. This varied role offers the opportunity to develop your skills, work collaboratively and contribute to high-quality care. To meet service needs, you may occasionally be asked to support other occupational therapy service areas.

The postholder will support the delivery of occupational therapy interventions in the Bromley ADAPT Team, working alongside Occupational Therapists to promote recovery and independence for service users.
The role involves supporting individuals to engage in meaningful activities that develop daily living skills, wellbeing, and social inclusion through the delivery of both group and one-to-one interventions. Networking and engaging with community resources will be an essential part of developing a program of activities which service users can continue to access outside of mental health services.

Under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) the postholder will:
· Work as part of the ADAPT multi-disciplinary team (MDT)
· Use technical, creative and psychosocial skills to deliver occupational therapy intervention to assist in the provision of a flexible, service user centred programme of therapeutic activities for individuals/groups of service users who experience mental health difficulties.
· Have an awareness of social inclusion and skills development and ensure activities used focus on these objectives
· Work autonomously under the guidance of the ward occupational therapists and physiotherapists to implement treatment for service users with mental health issues impacting upon function. This will entail both group and 1-1 work.
· Provide treatment in accordance with individualised care plans under the supervision of an occupational therapist
· Support service users to undertake daily activities that are designed to support recovery and independence as directed by the occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
· Attend and contribute to staff and team meetings as required
· Report any safety or security concerns in order to maintain the safety of service users, staff and others.
· Take part in regular supervision and appraisal and attend and participate in mandatory courses and training as indicated.
· Participate in the process of multi disciplinary working by exchanging appropriate information with service users, staff, carers and others maintaining adherence to data protection guidance and confidentiality at all times.
· Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed
