OT Health Care Support Worker - Band 4
Inpatients, Perth Royal Infirmary
FULL TIME/PERMANENT
We are looking for an OT Health Care Support Worker to join our friendly team of Occupational Therapists based within Perth Royal Infirmary.
You will provide a supportive role to your Occupational Therapy colleagues working within MFTE/Inpatient areas at PRI. You will provide rehabilitation to the clinical caseload in a supportive role with the occupational therapists. You will also undertake administrative and housekeeping duties including cleaning equipment and treatment areas. The post is based with ward teams, although this may change depending on service requirements.
Your role will include assisting with the day to day running of Inpatients wards undertaking some administrative and housekeeping duties including infection control, monitoring and ordering of stock, collating and reporting patient statistics as well as working with patients providing them with assessment and rehabilitation. This role will require you to be a good communicator to both patients and staff both in person and on the telephone. You must be flexible, organised and possess excellent IT skills.
You must have an understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy and have experience of working in a health or social care setting.
Education to SVQ level IV or equivalent would be advantageous and as a support worker, you will be required to achieve the mandatory induction standards for Health Care Support Workers in NHS Scotland.
