Job description
Overview

We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to work within the Occupational Therapy Team to provide administrative support.

The Occupational Therapy team provide input to patients pre and post surgery to increase independence and support discharge home.

The post holder will be integral to ensure safe and efficient patient flow and timely discharge home.

Reporting to the Occupational Therapy team lead, the post holder will be responsible for ordering and arranging delivery of adaptive equipment that has been identified to support patients on discharge home. This will require liaising with health boards and equipment stores across Scotland and using a variety of external systems and processes. Additionally, the post holder will be required to provide clear communication with patients regarding progress of equipment orders.

Among other tasks the postholder will answer the team telephone, take messages, assist with recording department data and carry out department stock check and equipment ordering.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a healthcare environment and have excellent interpersonal skills. Computer literacy and an ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision are a pre‑requisite for this role.
