Job summary

KT Healthcare in Oxford is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Therapies team, supporting a young person with autism to develop independence and emotional regulation within a multidisciplinary setting. Deliver weekly 40-minute direct sessions and provide indirect support across the academic year while collaborating with families and school staff.

You will set goals using sensory integration-informed approaches, monitor progress, and maintain detailed clinical records.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience working with children and young people with autism.
• Knowledge of sensory integration principles and neuro-affirming practice.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to coach and empower families and education staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly 40-minute direct occupational therapy sessions.
• Provide approximately 10 hours of indirect support across the academic year.
• Set meaningful therapy goals using a sensory integration approach informed by metacognitive, interoception-informed practices.
• Support the young person to develop sensory awareness, emotional regulation, self-care and independence.
• Coach school staff and other adults to embed therapeutic strategies into daily routines.
• Monitor progress and adapt programmes to ensure interventions remain effective.
• Liaise with parents, education staff and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and attend multidisciplinary meetings.

This is an excellent opportunity to deliver highly specialist occupational therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team, helping a young person with autism to develop greater independence, improve emotional regulation and maximise engagement in education and everyday life.,

• The ability to coach and empower families, education staff and other professionals
• Experience supporting young people within educational settings would be highly desirable. • £70 per hour
