Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel Limited is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Urgent Response Team in Barnet, London. The role is full-time, ongoing and inside IR35, offering flexible working and opportunities for professional development.

You will perform OT assessments in an Urgent Response service, manage complex cases, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote discharge avoidance and independence within the community.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Experience in Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy.
  • Familiarity with complex Moving and Handling procedures.
  • Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Occupational Therapy assessments within an Urgent Response service.
  • Undertake complex Moving and Handling risk assessments.
  • Assess high-risk community cases requiring urgent intervention.
  • Recommend and provide innovative equipment solutions.
  • Review cases where existing equipment is no longer suitable.
  • Develop safe moving and handling plans to reduce risks of carer injury.
  • Support discharge avoidance and independence within the community.
  • Manage a caseload autonomously across Barnet.
  • Participate in Duty OT responsibilities one day per week.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate records, assessments, and care plans.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a responsive, urgent community service.
