Job summary

Vetro Recruitment seeks a Specialist Occupational Therapist to support specialist schools in Powys. You will deliver assessments, interventions and training within a multidisciplinary team, helping pupils with complex needs thrive in educational settings.

Role involves collaboration with teachers, families and colleagues, with a focus on sensory integration and trauma-informed practice. Term Time Only (41 weeks) and a pro rata salary reflect flexible, school-based work.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
  • HCPC registration required.
  • Experience with children and young people with additional needs (autism and complex learning needs).
  • Specialist knowledge: sensory integration, attachment, trauma-informed practice, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Experience delivering training, consultation and support in educational settings.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and report-writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver OT assessment and intervention for children with complex needs.
  • Apply sensory integration, trauma-informed approaches and evidence-based interventions.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Occupational Therapist to support our specialist schools across Powys. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, helping children and young people with complex needs thrive in their educational environments. The successful candidate will deliver assessment, intervention, consultation, and training to promote positive outcomes for pupils with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and young people with complex needs.
  • Applying specialist approaches, including sensory integration, trauma-informed practice, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Collaborating with teachers, support staff, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues to develop inclusive learning environments.

Benefits & Work Environment
