Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Stroke Pathway.
We are excited to offer a full‑time static Band 6 position within our forward‑thinking Occupational Therapy Stroke Service. We wish to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic, and suitably experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for stroke care. The successful applicant will join an experienced and committed multi‑professional team, supporting an integrated approach to stroke care delivery and working flexibly and collaboratively with the full stroke Occupational Therapy team and colleagues across the pathway.
Occupational Therapy supports 7‑day service delivery within the acute service, and this requirement is part of the planned rota. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Working within our Occupational Therapy team and in close collaboration with the multi‑professional team, you will deliver comprehensive assessment underpinned by the stroke evidence base to inform early intervention and rehabilitation. You will contribute to MDT decision‑making regarding ongoing rehabilitation, highlighting occupational performance and optimising recovery and outcomes. As part of the team you will support a flexible pathway approach to stroke care delivery, with opportunities to work across the wider stroke pathway to further develop stroke skills and knowledge, engaging and promoting service delivery and improvement.
Management of activity data is essential; you will receive training in the collection and collation of Occupational Therapy data for SSNAP.
We are looking for someone who is flexible, resourceful, enthusiastic, and can demonstrate the impact and added value that Occupational Therapy brings to the Stroke Pathway. Excellent time management, resilience, and prioritisation skills are essential for delivering an efficient and effective service.
We are highly committed to personal and professional development, and you will be supported by Occupational Therapy Team Leaders. Opportunities to shadow or visit other services within this specialist pathway are supported. We welcome enquiries and visits.
