A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to co-lead a specialist inpatient team at Southmead Hospital. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to co‑lead our specialist inpatient team providing a service to Trauma & Orthopaedics. The role is based at Southmead Hospital and will encompass major trauma and other acute orthopaedic injuries.

You will be sharing the role of team lead, alongside another established Band 7 colleague, within the MSK pathway.
The orthopaedic trauma service deals with unplanned orthopaedic needs and accepts a wide range of emergencies from local fractures to complex polytrauma. We are one of two designated Major Trauma Centres in South West England and provide adult services for the Severn region.
The caseload is interesting and challenging with provision of early assessment and intervention to address occupational needs, prevention of complications and progression from hospital to home. This requires a range of therapeutic skills and knowledge.
There is close team working and links within the network and wider system to address needs at all stages of the clinical pathway, with occupational therapy playing a crucial role.
The role will support the MSK pathway lead to deliver an occupational therapy service within the specialty. This includes day to day operational management of the team and responsibility for a specialist clinical caseload within inpatient trauma & orthopaedics.
