Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an occupational therapist to deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions with individuals and groups. The post includes running structured group programmes and contributing to service development within the mental health team.

The role requires HCPC registration, relevant post-qualification experience, and driving entitlement for community work.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration
• Relevant post-qualification clinical experience
• Experience of relevant OT assessment and implementing interventions
• Understanding of how health and disability affect occupational performance, participation and identity
• Interest and skills in a specialist OT area

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based OT assessments and interventions (individual and group)
• Run group programmes: Occupation Matters, Recovery through Occupation, New Horizons and Memory Matters
• Use Model of Human Occupation to guide assessment and intervention
• Communicate with service users, carers, MDT and external agencies
• Contribute to team functioning and service development
• Supervise and mentor junior OT staff and students
• Provide OT student placements
• Lead on service development or audits
• Take lead professional role where appropriate
