Occupational Therapist – Intermediate Care

Locum Job Opportunity: Band 7 Occupational Therapist within Intermediate Care in Barrow in Furness (UK), earning £30 hourly, ongoing contract.

Embark on a rewarding journey as a Band 7 Occupational Therapist in Barrow in Furness. This is an ongoing locum contract offering a competitive hourly rate of £30. Core hours are 08:30–16:30, Monday to Friday, with optional extended day 08:00–18:30. This full-time role supports the Integrated Community Therapy Team, the Intermediate Care Unit, and the Discharge to Assess team. You’ll screen new referrals, assess therapy needs, and participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.

What you will do:

  • Attend and actively participate in MDT meetings.
  • Provide effective therapy input and rehabilitation for patients.
  • Collaborate with the Physio and OT therapy assistant to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Write detailed notes using EMIS and Lorenzo.
  • Perform community visits; driving is essential.
  • Occasionally cover other service streams, including home assessments and supporting the inpatient team or wellness centre.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Recent UK NHS experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
