Occupational Therapist Functional Assessor

Starting Salary: £40,000 per annum + bonus scheme and benefits. Location: Hybrid (office and home working) Yeovil. Hours: Monday to Friday 9 - 5. The role is full time and offers a salary of £40,000 per annum with performance bonuses, hybrid working, and competitive benefits.

We are recruiting for registered Nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists (OTs) in Yeovil who want to use and build upon their clinical skills and knowledge and benefit from the excellent work life balance and professional development that a career as a WCA Functional Assessor can give you.

Responsibilities

You will undertake a combination of file‑work, face‑to‑face and telephone/video assessments with customers in relation to PIP or ESA benefits and provide comprehensive reports to enable decision makers at DWP to make informed decisions regarding benefit claims. Such assessments focus on how a disability affects a customer's day to day life and performing work‑related activities. Comprehensive training will be provided to support you and to transfer your current skills to the required level. You will have ongoing CPD, with over 100 hours CPD protected per annum, support with revalidation and the opportunity to develop your career within the organisation.

Requirements
  • One year of post‑registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist or physiotherapist
  • Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or other), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN
  • Excellent observational and communication skills, giving you the ability to listen, empathise and dig deeper
  • The ability to type at a minimum of 30 words per minute
