Location and Hours

Hybrid (office and home working) Southampton. Monday to Friday 9 – 5.

Role Overview

We are recruiting registered nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to become WCA Functional Assessors. The role involves file‑work, face‑to‑face and telephone/video assessments, and the preparation of comprehensive reports to support decision makers at DWP regarding PIP or ESA benefit claims. You will grow medical knowledge across a wide variety of medical, cognitive and mental health conditions, and you will work in a hybrid position with a minimum of two days per week at one of our consultation centres.

Training and Development

Comprehensive training will equip you with the skills to support customers and transfer your current skills to the level required for the role. You will have ongoing CPD, with over 100 hours CPD protected per annum, support with revalidation and the opportunity to develop your career within the organisation. Internal progression opportunities and up to 6% contributory pension scheme are also offered.

Requirements
  • One year’s post‑registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
  • Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or other) without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills – the ability to listen, empathise and dig deeper.
  • Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
