Job summary

Cygnet Wallace Hospital in Dundee is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Learning Disabilities service. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess and plan personalised care pathways for adults with complex needs.

The role offers a 40-hour week, a fixed-term contract ending 14 December 2026, with ASAP start. The successful candidate will complete an enhanced DBS check and contribute to recovery, independence and positive outcomes in a supportive environment.

Situated in a residential area of Dundee, Cygnet Wallace Hospital is an 18 bed specialist high dependency complex care service providing assessment and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities, with or without autistic spectrum disorder, as well as complex needs and behaviours.

We are proud to provide a specialist service focused on recovery, independence and positive outcomes for the individuals in our care. Our experienced multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to create personalised care pathways that support each person to reach their full potential.

Our ever-evolving service offers a safe, therapeutic and structured environment, supported by experienced clinical leadership and a compassionate team.

Cygnet Wallace Hospital is located in the city of Dundee, which has an extensive array of community amenities to access, including leisure centres, social clubs, shops, colleges, and work placement settings. Service users can also enjoy walks and visits to the nearby botanical gardens and Discovery Quay.

The post holder will be supervised by the specialist Occupational Therapist on site.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 185 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapy team members have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
