Occupational Therapist Assistant - Part Time

The role of an Occupational Therapist Assistant at The Chimneys clinic is to support the delivery of structured activities and assist in the planning of individual and group therapeutic interventions. The assistant will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to build rapport with service users, encourage participation, and contribute to the assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of activities to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Main duties of the job

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual care plans. You will support service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services, as well as maintain adequate records and enter details in the service user healthcare records.

Job responsibilities

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities, assist in planning for individual and group therapeutic interventions, build one-to-one rapport with service users to encourage participation and empower recovery, contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities to measure progression and ensure effectiveness, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team, with regional support and access to training and online courses.

This role is a part time position of 19 hours per week.

  • Assisting Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
  • Supporting service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
  • Maintaining adequate records and entering details in the service user healthcare records.
Qualifications
  • GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
  • Experience in a similar environment and mental health setting.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

You will be working at The Chimneys Clinic, a 12 bedded service providing specialist care that is specifically designed to support women that have a diagnosis of an emerging or personality disorder.
