Job summary

Emerald Place Clinic, part of Elysium Healthcare, seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant to support structured activities and therapeutic interventions under supervision. You’ll build rapport, contribute to assessments, and help measure progress in a multidisciplinary setting.

Shift pattern includes 37.5 hours weekly across a mix of weekdays and long days; excellent training, DBS compliance, and access to development courses are provided.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written communication skills required.
• Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health.
• GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or NVQ2 as minimum qualification.

Join Emerald Place Clinic as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and change the lives of people with a range of Mental Health conditions.

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities and assisting in the planning for individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapports with service users to encourage participation in activities and empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

The shift pattern is Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday 9:15am - 8:30pm for the first week and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:15am - 8:30pm for the second week with a 32 minutes break. The weekly hours is 37.5

As An Occupational Therapist Assistant You Will Be

• Assisting Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
• Supporting service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
• Maintaining adequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

• GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
• Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
• Verbal and written communication skills

Where You Will Be Working

Location: Emerald Place Clinic, Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, Horley, RH6 0BN

Emerald Place Clinic is a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to the age of 18. Young people who are admitted to the unit will have a primary diagnosis of mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs.

These could include mental health conditions such as mood disorders and acute psychosis. Additionally young people may have co-existing additional needs such as neurodevelopmental disorders, including mild learning disabilities or autism. A young person could also be admitted if they have disordered eating.

Emerald Place Clinic is located in a remote area with limited public transport links. Applicants will need to have access to reliable mode of transport to travel to and from the site.
