A leading healthcare provider in Scotland is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their dynamic team within Older People's Services. The role involves assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation for older patients with complex needs. We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team within Older People’s Service, North Sector. You will be predominantly based within our acute assessment wards at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (Gri) but may be asked to support other areas within our service. Our team also covers the frailty unit at Gri and the rehab wards and ARC at Lightburn and Stobhill Hospitals. The role will involve assessment, treatment planning, rehab and complex discharge planning of older people predominantly over the age of 75 who present with multiple pathologies including Frailty, Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease and falls. Older peoples Service in the North Sector have been selected to participate in the Health Improvement Scotland (HIS) Focus on Frailty Programme 25/26 to improve services for older adults living with Frailty. The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to this.
The post holder will also contribute to the evaluation and development of the occupational therapy service within their designated area with reference to clinical governance, clinical effectiveness and national policies and drivers. This will require the post holder to lead/support on departmental and team projects. Our team ethos is to support advancing practice for all staff and at present multiple staff have secured funding to complete advanced practice modules through the AHP education fund.
The post is 5 days over 7. The team provide a seven day service as required to the frailty unit and acute assessment wards at GRI.
