Neway International are seeking an Occupational Therapist (Adults) – Social Care Qualified to join our client based with Somerset Council.

Location: Brympton Way, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 2HT

Hours per week: 37

Start Date: 08 December 2025

End Date: Initially for a 6 month contract, likely to be extended.

Pay Rates: PAYE: £30.56 per hour Umbrella/Ltd: £39.98 per hour

Role: Occupational Therapist (Adults)

We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to deliver assessments and interventions that promote independence and wellbeing. This role is community-based, with the expectation that assessments are completed in service users’ homes for three days per week, and two days in the office to write up assessments and progress cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete occupational therapy assessments in service users’ homes.
  • Write up assessments and progress cases from the office.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver effective social care.
  • Provide advice and interventions to promote independence and wellbeing.
  • Liaise with social care services, health services, voluntary agencies, and education providers.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with HCPC guidelines and legislation.
  • Support service users with complex needs, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Relevant multi-disciplinary social care experience.
  • Evidence of partnership working with other agencies.
  • Knowledge of social care practice, legislation, and HCPC guidelines.
  • IT skills for effective data input and retrieval.
  • Fluent English (as per Immigration Act 2016).
  • Empathy, resilience, and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Access to/use of a vehicle.
Desirable
  • Experience working with a variety of client groups.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience working with health professionals.
  • Creative thinking and willingness to embrace organisational change.
