Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Grade: Band 5

Trust: South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust

Locations: Sunderland Royal Hospital, Kayll Rd, Sunderland SR4 7TP

Hours: 37.5 per week, between Monday to Sunday

Pay rate: £17.13 per hour (exc WTD)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the clinical team at South Tyneside and Sunderland Hospitals.

Role Details
  • To work as a therapy practitioner using clinical reasoning skills to provide therapy assessment, treatment and advice to a caseload which will incorporate a range of presentation of conditions.
  • To complete effective, concise documentation of patients records in line with Trust, professional & department standards.
  • To ensure accurate data entry takes place in line with departmental standards.
  • To participate in the service and patient pathways in line with clinical standards and best practice.
  • To work toward the achievement of specific response time targets.
  • To maintain professional development through participation in relevant profession CPD activities and self-learning.
The Successful Candidate Will
  • Have a recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Have HCPC registration.
  • Experience as an Occupational Therapist in a physical acute hospital setting.
  • Have acute physical OT hospital discharge assessment and planning experience.
  • Have proven written communication skills including report writing and maintaining patient records.

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
