Job summary

Grange School in Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to provide a high-quality paediatric OT service across pupils at Grange School and partner schools.

You will assess needs, develop tailored intervention plans and ensure access to appropriate equipment and support, working with teachers, families and other professionals to achieve learning outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Experience managing a caseload and delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
  • Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs, especially Autism Spectrum Conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing pupils' functional, educational, social and physical needs.
  • Designing and delivering occupational therapy programmes.
  • Providing direct 1:1 therapy interventions.
  • Advising on and supporting use of specialist equipment (seating, feeding, toileting).
  • Monitoring and reviewing therapy programmes for positive outcomes.
  • Collaborating with staff, parents and external agencies.
  • Contributing to statutory assessments and multidisciplinary planning.
  • Supporting training and development of colleagues.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic team at Grange School.

This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £33,123 and the full time equivalent is £38,510 Grade 7.

At Grange School, we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist educational setting, supporting pupils with physical impairments, complex health needs, autism, and associated learning difficulties to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.

About the role

As our Occupational Therapist, you will provide a high-quality paediatric occupational therapy service to pupils at Grange School and designated partner schools.

Working closely with teachers, teaching assistants, parents, carers and other professionals, you will assess pupils' needs, develop tailored intervention programmes, and ensure pupils have access to appropriate specialist equipment and support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing pupils' functional, educational, social and physical needs.
  • Designing and delivering effective occupational therapy programmes.
  • Providing direct 1:1 therapy interventions.
  • Advising on and supporting the use of specialist equipment, including seating, feeding and toileting equipment.
  • Monitoring and reviewing therapy programmes to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies.
  • Contributing to statutory assessments, review meetings and multidisciplinary planning.
  • Supporting the training and development of colleagues across the school.

We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist who:

  • Holds a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Holds a full driving licence.
  • Has experience of managing a caseload and delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
  • Has experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions.
  • Can assess, analyse and respond effectively to complex needs.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, teamwork and report-writing skills.
