We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and recovery-focused Occupational Therapist to join our innovative Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team alongside experienced Occupational Therapists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and medical colleagues, helping individuals with forensic histories and complex mental health needs progress through their recovery journey and reintegrate into community life.

As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist within FOLS, you will:
  • Carry out occupational therapy assessments and interventions with support from senior Occupational Therapy colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with the Band 6 Occupational Therapist and wider MDT to support recovery-focused rehabilitation plans
  • Support service users to develop the practical skills needed for successful community living and increased independence
  • Build therapeutic relationships with individuals who may present with complex mental health needs, forensic histories, trauma, and occupational disruption
  • Support positive risk management and person-centred care planning
  • Work alongside inpatient secure unit teams to support continuity of care and successful discharge into the community
  • Contribute ideas and creativity to individual interventions and therapeutic approaches
  • Deliver interventions focused on:
    • Daily living skills and routines
    • Community access and social inclusion
    • Confidence building and emotional wellbeing
    • Digital literacy and use of technology
    • Financial management and budgeting skills
    • Vocational interests, education, and meaningful activity

You will be encouraged to develop your professional identity as an Occupational Therapist within forensic services whilst receiving structured supervision and support to grow your confidence and clinical skills.
