Job summary

Provide CIC is seeking a qualified occupational therapist to support children and young people with diverse needs in community and school settings. The role focuses on assessment, developing plans, and promoting independence and participation for children and families in Essex and surrounding areas.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred interventions, maintain records to NHS standards, and contribute to safeguarding and reports as required.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapy Qualification obtained.
• UK registration with HCPC.
• Minimum of 1 year OT experience.
• Valid driving license and access to car.
• Experience of the OT process and equipment assessment is desirable.
• Report writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess children’s functional abilities and self-care skills.
• Develop and implement individualised intervention plans.
• Monitor progress and review outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical records.
• Contribute to EHCNA and provide reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physio, SLT, paediatricians, educators, nurses, and social care professionals.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and identify welfare concerns.
• Manage a caseload under supervision.

Job summary

We are looking for a qualified occupational therapist to work within children’s services. The role involves assessing and supporting children and young people who experience difficulties with everyday activities due to physical, developmental, neurological, sensory, learning, or social-emotional needs. The therapist works closely with families, schools, health professionals, and other agencies to help children maximise their independence, participation, and quality of life.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities involve assessing children’s functional abilities, including:

• Self-care skills (dressing, feeding, toileting).
• Fine and gross motor skills.
• Play and leisure activities.
• School participation and classroom access -Sensory processing and regulation needs.

The successful candidate will work within a team of Occupational therapists to;

• Develop and implement individualised intervention plans based on their assessment findings.
• Monitor progress and review outcomes through regular follow‑up appointments.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with NHS and professional standards.
• Contribute to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs) and provide reports when required.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, paediatricians, educational psychologists, nurses, and social care professionals.
• Participate in safeguarding procedures and identify concerns relating to a child’s welfare.
• Manage a caseload under the supervision of a senior occupational therapist.
