NHS Highland seeks a Band 5 Occupational Therapist for a permanent post, 24.12 hours per week, based between Broadford and Portree Hospitals. Work within a community integrated team to assess and intervene to maximise function and independence, with early discharge focus, across multiple sites.

Applications are invited for a permanent, 24.12 hours per week based between Broadford and Portree Hospitals working within the community integrated team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established team of Occupational Therapists in a community based setting. The focus for this post is provision of occupational therapy assessment and interventions to help maximise client function and independence focusing predominantly on rehabilitation. The post holder will work across Broadford and Portree hospitals with an aim to facilitate earlier hospital discharges/prevention of hospital admissions with support from Senior Occupational Therapists and with an opportunity to outreach into the community for continuity of care.
You will be expected to act independently to provide a full comprehensive service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral and discharge to a complex range of patients referred to the service. There will be ongoing support with more complex cases from the Senior Occupational Therapists within the team.
You will work within Multidisciplinary Teams, supervise Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Occupational Therapy students. Regular supervision is provided (including peer supervision opportunities) and opportunities for ongoing professional development are encouraged.
A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy is required as is current HCPC registration.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations and patient residences, so a full current driving license is essential.
