Overview

PepsiCo is hiring Occupational Safety Sr Coordinator to be based in R&D office in Leicester. In this role you will support the environmental, health and safety agenda, ensuring legal compliance through development and implementation of EHS systems at Beaumont Park. This includes: Compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation within the Corporate GEHSMS system. Providing competent advice on all safety and environment related matters; and giving information, advice and coaching on relevant legislation and internal Safety Management systems. Working with the team, site management team and Safety Action Teams to drive the EHS culture at the site; and to meet the site targets of risk management and accident reduction. Co‑ordinating MyEHS, including reporting metrics; investigating near misses and incidents and reporting. EHS co‑ordination of 3rd party providers. Provide expert advice, training and support to the site upskilling and implementation of the GEHSMS system.

Responsibilities

Will be called on to provide critical EHS decisions when site EHS Manager or Specialist is not available. For example: make decisions on taking equipment out of service/production stoppages in relation to high potential safety or environment issues in consultation with Warehouse/Transport Management Teams. Clear accountability for key elements of the Safety Management System: specifically in relation to Risk Assessment (to meet legislation) and the Environmental Compliance. Make decisions on appropriate corrective actions following accident investigations, PGIs, and risk assessments in consultation with relevant managers. Manage system to ensure corrective actions are prioritised and concluded. Manage site's employee consultation on matters of health and safety. Manage site compliance with MyEHS requirements, including reporting metrics and incident investigation.

Qualifications

Fundamental knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and internal Safety Management System requirements. Requirement for NEBOSH Certificate or NVQ Lvl 4. Preference for Approved General Risk Assessor, PUWER/COSHH, DSE, Manual Handling assessment trained. Auditing experience. Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels. Experience - in a similar role with transferable competence set as above. Ability to set and manage own agenda to achieve overall HSE strategy of site. Can see trends in HSE data and use to influence site plans. Strong investigation techniques, looking for root cause and not satisfied with easy answers. Understands the need for collaborative working both within the safety team and with the Front Line.
