Job description

• Discipline: Occupational Hygiene Consultant

Our client is a multi-disciplined organisation, who provides various professional asbestos, water treatment/hygiene and occupational hygiene services to clients across the country. Due to recent business developments they are seeking to employ a high calibre and self‑motivated Occupational Hygienist based in or around the Watford area. Applications will be considered from Hemel Hempstead, Edgware, St Albans, Hayes and the surrounding areas.

Qualifications

Ideally, the applicant will hold BIOH/IOA or equivalent qualifications and must have prior consultancy experience.

Holding the qualification in general Health and Safety (e.g. – NEBOSH Certificate) and other qualification pertaining to the role would be beneficial.

Hands on experience working within an occupational hygiene role.

Hold excellent communication, organisational, presentation and people management skills.

Be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.

Must be well versed with the Health & Safety procedures and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

The work will involve undertaking a wide range of occupational hygiene related projects such as workplace assessments – air monitoring, COSHH assessments, noise, fumes, dust and hand‑arm vibration surveys, local exhaust ventilation (LEV) examination and testing and indoor air quality.

Emissions Testing.

Site Assessments – Assessing Emission.

Collating and producing technical reports.

Liaising with the company’s mixed portfolio of clients and dealing with issues appropriately and effectively.

Managing the accounts appropriately and effectively.

Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the Health & Safety procedures and legislation.

Ideally, the applicant will be of smart disposition, versatile and competent and have good work ethic and at the same time have the aptitude to carry out the work effectively. Due to the nature of the contracts the successful candidate be flexible with regards to travelling.
