Job description

We are looking to recruit an Occupational Health Technician to join the Manufacturing Support team based in Barton-upon-Humber. Although the role will be based at our Head Office, the successful candidate will be working across all 5 manufacturing sites. The shift pattern will be Monday to Friday, and the working hours will vary.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking relevant health surveillance activities on site, including audiometry, spirometry, vision testing, hand‑arm vibration and blood pressure monitoring
• Accurately record and maintain confidential medical information in‑line with data protection requirements and company standards
• Ensuring all testing equipment is regularly checked, cleaned, calibrated and maintained in a safe and serviceable condition
• Maintaining an up‑to‑date knowledge of occupational health legislation, guidance and best practice
• Working closely with the HR and Health & Safety teams to create personal risk assessments for relevant employees
• Promoting the occupational health initiative across the business by organising and supporting awareness campaigns and events
• Undertaking additional tasks as requested such as face fit testing, visual and behavioural observations and isocyanate exposure sample collection

Desired Skills and Knowledge

• A good knowledge of ISO standards is desirable, enabling the candidate to carry out management system tasks in accordance with their requirements
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• IT literate
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with employees and managers
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Flexibility in terms of location and shift pattern is required
• Driving License is essential

The following courses will be offered to the successful candidate and paid for by Wren (after a waiver has been signed): Occupational Audiometry, Occupational Spirometry Competency, Occupational Vision Testing and Blood Pressure Testing.
