Job summary

Latus Group is recruiting an Occupational Health Physician to join our Birmingham-based team with a blend of peripatetic travel across the UK and home-based work. This full-time role supports our workplace health service, delivering high-quality clinical and advisory services to clients and employees.

The post requires GMC registration with Diploma in Occupational Medicine (or higher), and proven OHP experience across public/private sectors.

Qualifications

• Valid GMC registration with a Diploma in Occupational Medicine (or higher Occupational Health qualification)
• Proven Occupational Health experience in public and/or private sector environments
• Strong background in complex case management delivering balanced, evidence-based advice
• Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills with knowledge of treatment pathways
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for clear reports
• Strong relationship-building skills with clients, managers and employees
• Self-motivated, confident and highly organised with ability to manage a varied workload

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of management referrals and delivering evidence-based occupational health advice
• Conducting Appointed Doctor medicals with training provided for non-accredited applicants
• Completing HAVS Tier 4 assessments with training as needed
• Assessing fitness for work and recommending reasonable adjustments
• Delivering health surveillance programmes for at-risk staff
• Providing expert occupational health and wellbeing guidance to employees and employers
• Partnering with clients to promote best practice in workplace health and wellbeing

We're now looking to recruit experienced Occupational Health Physicians (OHPs) to join our growing team. This role offers a blend of peripatetic travel and home-based working, and we welcome applications from OHPs across the UK. As a key member of our Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality client support while contributing to the continued growth, development, and success of our services.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Managing a varied caseload of management referrals, delivering pragmatic, evidence-based occupational health advice and recommendations
• Conducting Appointed Doctor medicals, with full training provided for those not already accredited.
• Completing HAVS Tier 4 assessments, with training available where required
• Assessing fitness for work, recommending reasonable adjustments and ensuring individuals can perform their roles safely and effectively
• Delivering health surveillance programmes to monitor and protect employees exposed to workplace hazards
• Providing expert advice to both employees and employers on occupational health, wellbeing and work-related health issues
• Partnering with clients to promote best practice in workplace health and wellbeing, supporting the prevention of illness, injury and absence

Key Requirements

• Valid GMC registration with a Diploma in Occupational Medicine (or higher Occupational Health qualification)
• Proven Occupational Health experience gained within public and/or private sector environments.
• Strong background in complex case management, providing balanced, evidence-based advice on health and work
• Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with a sound understanding of appropriate treatment pathways and workplace health risks
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, practical reports and recommendations
• Strong relationship-building skills, able to establish credibility and trust with clients, managers and employees
• Self-motivated, confident and highly organised, with the ability to manage a varied workload and work autonomously
