Overview

The Occupational Health Clinic Nurse role will form part of the North West London Occupational Health Shared Service team, helping to promote and maintain the health and wellbeing of staff.

Interview Details

All interviews will be held on 19th December 2025 in person atWoodfield Road, W9.

  • Provide vaccination
  • Venepuncture
  • Assessment and Management of blood and body fluid exposure incidents
  • Answering telephone / emails as a duty nurse and providing sign posting / health and wellbeing advice
  • Use a comprehensive OH record keeping system / database both inputting and retrieving clinical data e.g. Immunisation details and Test Results to issue to staff on request
  • Participate in the quality, monitoring and evaluation of the occupational health service
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Able to maintain effective communication
  • To practice high standards of client care in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings as OH service or partner/customer needs require.
  • Work to meet the objectives of the service, partners and external customers.
  • Work within the scope of the NMC Professional Practice and Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and work within the framework of the Data Protection Act.
  • Development of a sound knowledge of the processes of organisations to which they may be allocated is essential as is the establishment of strong working relations with the authorised officers of the all partners and customers.
  • You will apply limited specialist knowledge and skills to undertake a clinical service and other varied responsibilities of the post.
  • You may at times work with limited supervision, you are accountable for your professional actions.
About the Service

The North West London Occupational Health Shared Service (NWLOHSS) is hosted by Central and North West London Foundation Trust (CNWL) and is made up of a team of experienced occupational health doctors and nurses, supported by administrators. The majority hold specialist qualifications and many have over 20 years’ experience in occupational health.

The service has a strong commercial customer base providing first class professional Occupational Health Services to other NHS organisations as well as small / medium size enterprises (SME). One of the main objectives for the service is to consolidate the shared service across NWL and where appropriate continue to expand upon its commercial interests across London and adjoining counties. This is reflected in the job plan.

The Occupational Health Service operates in line with the principles laid down in the NHS Employers “Your occupational health service” guidance October 2019 and the most recently updated SEQOHS standards April 2023.

We place a strong focus on “a high quality, clinically-led, evidence-based service equitable and accessible impartial, approachable and receptive to both clients and employer which contributes to improved organisational productivity for our host Trust / Organisations we serve.

The OH service is accredited by SEQOHS.

Additional Services
  • To provide an ongoing immunisation programme for all personnel who are at risk of exposure to pathogens during the course of their work.
  • To assess employee in a sensitive and reassuring manner following needlestick/ contamination incidents, providing support during potentially emotionally distressing circumstances.
  • To give ongoing support and information to clients throughout their follow up period.
  • To participate in screening programs for both partners and customers.
