Job summary

PE Global is recruiting for a Nutrition Strategy & Communication Manager for a leading multinational FMCG client based in Birmingham. This maternity cover role sits in a hybrid setup (3 days on site) with ~36 hours per week (9am–5pm, Mon–Fri).

Pay ranges from £28.37 to £35.47 per hour (PAYE). The successful candidate will lead strategic nutrition messaging, liaise with cross-functional teams and develop scientific communications for professionals and consumers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of food industry experience.
• Robust expertise in Human Nutrition.
• Ability to translate scientific knowledge into messages for diverse audiences.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience developing nutrition messages for brands and media.

Responsibilities

• Garners expert knowledge on UK regulatory environment for food and health claims including HFSS.
• Stays abreast of external environment and partners with internal stakeholders on solutions.
• Develops nutrition and wellbeing messages for key brands across categories.
• Provides materials for professionals and consumers across media (packaging, websites, docs).
• Supports health influencer outreach and nutrition education programs.
• Aids conference strategies as needed.

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Nutrition Strategy & Communication Manager for a leading multi-national FMCG client based in Birmingham.

This is a maternity cover contract position based in Birmingham working hybrid, 3 days on site.

Working hours - 36 hours per week (9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday)

Pay rate - £28.37 per hour - £35.47 per hour (depending on experience) PAYE

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

• Garners expert knowledge on the UK regulatory environment regarding food and drink related health and wellbeing interventions including HFSS.
• Stays abreast with the changing external environment, bringing perspectives on opportunities and implications to the business. Partners with internal stakeholders on solutions and strategic plans.
• Develops and support nutrition & wellbeing-related message/claim development for key brands covering all categories working with brand teams, consumer insights, regulatory affairs, nutrition research, and legal. Adapt global for local context as needed. Provide marketing teams with support across various communication media (packaging, advertising, websites, documents aimed at healthcare professionals, etc.)
• Support the development of scientific communication materials/resources on a broad array of nutrition & wellbeing topics for professional and consumer audiences
• Support execution of health influencer outreach programs to drive brand credibility and growth
• Support internal nutrition & wellbeing education programs increasing knowledge and awareness on relevant topics
• Support nutrition conference strategies as needed

Education/Experience

• Minimum BSc Hons degree in Human Nutrition or a related field is required. Masters degree is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of food industry experience.
• Robust expertise in Human Nutrition.
• Stays abreast of latest food and nutrition trends.
• Understanding of applied nutrition and industry, government, and professional health community practices related to food and nutrition issues
• Excellent communicator with the ability to translate scientific knowledge into relevant and credible messages and deliver powerful presentations
• Experience identifying consumer driven nutrition insights, trends, and opportunities, and connecting with scientific knowledge to develop simple, accurate, and supportable consumer messages that drive sales
• Project management skills, ability to multi-task, and meet multiple deadlines
• Some technical knowledge of food categories processes, technologies, ingredients and formulae
• Ability to handle complexity.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
