A healthcare provider in Swaffham is looking for a Nursing Associate to join its team. The candidate will support registered nurses with clinical tasks, provide compassionate care, and promote health and well-being among patients. Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality care, undertaking clinical observations, and contributing to integrated patient care. Ideal candidates should possess the NMC Pin and experience in chronic disease management.
The Nursing Associate works alongside a team within general practice.The post holder will be an integral part of the general practice team,
Their principal task is to support registered nursesto enable them to be able to focus on the more complex clinical care ofpatients.
Work closely with the GP practice and their management team to support in aspects of administration and clinical work as reasonably required for the role. This can be inclusive of the tasks set out in the job description, but this will be outlined by the surgery based on practice need. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

a. Delivery of high quality, compassionatecare whilst undertaking specific clinical and care tasks under the direction ofa registered nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on practice)with a focus on promoting good health and independence.
b. To provide high-quality holistic andperson-centred care to individuals.
c. To provide routine care to patients asrequired in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF.
d. To provide wound care, dressings andother clinical tasks as required.
e. To work as part of the Practices MDT toprovide and monitor care, under direct or indirect supervision.
f. To improve safety and quality of care atevery opportunity.
g. To contribute to the delivery ofintegrated care.
h. To work with a supervisor to takeresponsibility for developing own clinical competence, leadership andreflective practice skills within the workplace.
i. To provide support and supervision totraining nursing associates, healthcare assistants, apprentices and those onlearning assignments/placements as required.
j. To support registered nurses to enablethem to be able to focus on the more complex clinical care.
k. To develop relationships across the MDTto support integration of the role across health and social care includingprimary care, secondary care and mental health.
l. To perform and record clinicalobservations such as blood pressure, temperature, respirations and pulse.
m. After undertaking additional training, toprovide flu vaccinations, ECGs and venepuncture and other relevant clinicaltasks as required by the Practice in line with the competencies of the role.
n. To promote health and wellbeing to allpatients, for example undertaking the NHS health check.
o. To care for individuals with dementia,mental health conditions and learning disabilities.
p. To provide wound care (ulcer/Doppleretc.) to patients.
q. To provide support during minoroperations as required.
r. To advise patients on general healthcareand promote self-management where appropriate, including signposting patientsto personalised care colleagues and local community and voluntary sectorservices.
s. To maintain accurate and contemporaneouspatient health records ensuring that clinical data is appropriately recordedwith SNOMED codes.
t. To process pathology results as required.
u. To enhance own performance throughcontinuous professional development, imparting own knowledge and behaviours tomeet the needs of the service.
v. To work with your line manager to accessregular clinical supervision to enable you to deal effectively with thedifficult issues that people present.
w. To contribute to and embrace thespectrum of clinical governance.
x. To attend a formal appraisal with yourmanager at least every 12 months.
y. To contribute to public health campaigns(e.g., COVID-19 or flu clinics) through advice or direct care
z. To support and deliver health promotionand wellbeing programmes including any opportunistic delivery.
