Job Summary

Join our thriving GP practice as a Nursing Associate in this exciting ARRS‑funded opportunity. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care including chronic disease management, health promotion, and clinical assessments within a supportive multi‑disciplinary team. We seek an NMC‑registered Nursing Associate to provide excellent care for our 7,000 patients. This role offers professional development, comprehensive training, and is ideal for newly qualified Nursing Associates or those looking to advance their career in general practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead chronic disease management clinics for diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension, and other long‑term conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, medication reviews, and lifestyle counselling.
  • Provide health promotion, vaccination services, and preventative care screening.
  • Perform clinical observations, wound care, and minor procedures.
  • Support clinical governance, safeguarding, and infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with GPs, Practice Nurses, and wider healthcare teams.
  • Mentor healthcare assistants and support practice development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to quality improvement projects.
Qualifications
  • NMC registration as a Nursing Associate.
  • Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Current NMC PIN and professional indemnity coverage.
  • Additional clinical qualifications (e.g., immunisation, contraception) – desirable.
  • First Aid/Basic Life Support certification – desirable.
  • Mentorship or teaching qualifications – desirable.
Experience
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting prior to foundation degree training.
  • Post‑registration experience as a Nursing Associate.
  • Experience in patient assessment and care planning.
  • Experience using SystmOne clinical system – desirable.
  • Primary care or community healthcare experience – desirable.
  • Chronic disease management experience – desirable.
  • Experience in health promotion and prevention – desirable.
